I made this video to show how to cut safely and how not to cut. I have watched "supposed" edged experts demonstrate on TV that would fail out a Fire Academy or landscaping crew. Edged weapons are cutting tools and need to treated as such. Remember tools can not think so you must think for them and make sure all of you body parts are out of the line of travel of the blade.

    Said at the beginning of video, cutting with shashka teacher. Was hoping to see the teacher, to learn something new. Feel undersold. Next time you say with shashka teacher, maybe put him in vid, and maybe even correct these guys cutting.... That first guy, was more danger to himself than to any opponent.

    Gr8 review. Just have one question does the Cold Steel sword have a symbol of a cross on it ? Or is it just an engraving of a bird and letters ? Thanks

      It has no crosses, only geometric shapes. No birds or letters.

    I search lot of videos lately. Questioning about how to grip a sword, especially non handguard sword like a shashka. For me, It's basic but fundamental 'cause if I don't know how to grip the sword then I would not know how to use it. And this video answering question. Thank you, Sir.

      I rotate between a sword grip and a saber grip. Saber grip for the rotations and the thrusts and the sword grip for the slashes.

    This bow was never meant to be drawn or used in this way , in the method shown you have only one shot and if you're up against multiple opponents then your as good as dead with this method. The best aimed arrow is useless if fired slowly. An archer who cannot fire quickly is useless and these are quoted from at least three historical sources on the subject.

      @@GuroMarc I agree with a sharp shashka you can only crumble a bottle like that ! The thin section of the blade at the end gives a lot of possibilities in this regard, it's not for nothing that the shashka whistles so much !

      @@Lex_Grin It requires a razor sharp blade. Mine are sharpened on Surgical sharpening stone by hand.

      He makes very nice Shashka that light, strong and fast on the draw. I sharpen mine up by hand.

В нем используются большая шина для грузовика, шина для большого пикапа, сани весом 12 фунтов и бревно диаметром 4 дюйма, которое я нашел в лесу.     many time a lot of people use swords but more likely sabers to give blows not to cuts, the difference between using a weapon to hit and to cut, they seams not to know it
